RESEARCH MANAGER
A Research Manager is responsible for ensuring the timing and accurate completion of projects under their supervision.

Main job responsibilities

• Design questionnaires to ensure they provide meaningful data and are actionable.
• Deliver fieldwork briefing to ensure the interviewers are clear about the purposes and logic of the flow of the questionnaires.
• Conduct data analysis to provide meaningful conclusions.
• Design reports and charts to present easy-to-read and meaningful linkage to conclusions.
• Prepare proposals for review and estimate & supervise costing preparation to achieve competitiveness and cost effectiveness.
• Estimate costs to ensure comprehensive and accurate cost items are included in the proposal.
• Estimate and plan resources for the commissioned projects to ensure the projects could be completed according to schedule.
• Check work of researchers (e.g. code frames; CATI scripts; DP specs, etc.) to ensure proper standards are met.
• Interpret the data using SYNOVATE or other techniques to produce accurate analysis.
• Write the conclusions to clearly and accurately represent the insights of the findings and recommendations.
• Assist in providing information during report presentation to clients
• Liaise with DP and fieldwork operations to ensure the progress of the project is well communicated and monitored to minimize disruption of delays.
• Train and supervise researchers to ensure they acquire basic research techniques.
  

Job specification

• University degree
• Minimum 4-5 years research experience
• Marketing and business knowledge an advantage
• Good knowledge of market research and SYNOVATE products & techniques
• Knowledge of a particular industry (e.g. IT / telecom or fast moving consumer goods) also advantageous
• Good working knowledge of research processes and analyses and the ability to run projects.
• Very good English essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Good project management skills
• Good communication skills
• Good presentation skills

Eijkman Institute is a renewed, non-profit, government funded research institute conducting basic research in medical molecular biology and biotechnology. The institute is located at the heart of Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia.The institute has a main mission of advancing the progress of basic research related to molecular biology and biotechnology in Indonesia, particularly in the biomedical field.

The institute was named after its first director, Christiaan Eijkman, a Dutch-born scientist whose works in beri-beri at this institute leads to the discovery of the first vitamin.

To support our research activities in emerging infectious disease and forensic genetics, we invite applicants for the following positions :

(1) One Medical Doctor
(2) Two Research Assistants (BSc or equivalent)
(3) One Electrical Engineer (Ir)
(4) Information Techology (IT)

Candidates (1) should have 2 years experience in clinical management, (2) should hold a good academic degree (IP >3.00 or equivalent), preferably with laboratory experience in biological science, and have an interest in the molecular biology of disease, human genetic diversity and forensic. Experience in cellular / or molecular techniques would be advantages but not essential. Candidate (3) with PLC system and desirable. Candidate (4) should have experience in IT System engineering.

We will provide training in a wide range of techniques used and candidates should be willing to be trained overseas. Proficiency in English is essential
