| 0023633 - Senior Systems Engineer Posted: 10 Aug 2011 05:00 PM PDT Closing Date: 17 Aug 2011 Salary: Up to £36390 p/a Summary of Role The successful candidate will perform a mixture of support and development activities predominately based at Next's warehousing complex in South Elmsall, Pontefract but occasionally requiring work in and around other UK based sites, including Warehouses at Wath-on-Dearne and Next's Head Office based in Leicester. Please note that the interview process will consist of a technical test and an interview with the technical test being held on Friday 12th August 2011. Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to proactive monitoring, 3rd line fault diagnosis and resolution, disaster recovery, problem resolution, upgrades to existing Windows based servers and systems, implementing and checking backups, anti-virus deployment and monitoring, auditing of environment and computer rooms and maintaining environmental records. Development activities include delivery of server platforms and solutions to underpin Warehouse operational, automation and reporting services. You will use physical and virtualised server platforms, deploy office solutions including Citrix Presentation Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office and file services. In addition the successful candidate will take part in a weekly callout rota. Overtime and some shift changes are expected as many systems can only be installed or changed outside of normal business hours. The Technical Services Team operates a shift pattern covering the hours 07:00am – 6:00pm. Some extended cover can be expected to cover operational peaks. |
