Summary of role

To provide full administrative support on a day to day basis to the product team

Responsibilities

Administration:
Deal with all incoming mail–prioritise post requiring immediate attention
Organisation of diary appointments
Effectively deal with all incoming calls
To maintain high standards of orderliness in all storage areas within the department by regularly reviewing them and disposing of unnecessary contents
Photocopying and filing for the area when required
Create and update regular timelines for your teams
Ensure post and courier is sent out and collected everyday and courier deadlines are met
 
 Dealing with samples:
 Chase and process samples, understanding the urgency, in order to prioritise with suppliers
Enter basic information on to buyers range plan and the progress system
Request mockshop samples, and ensure they are delivered on time and to the correct person by emailing suppliers, advising deadlines, collating and updating spreadsheets
Arrange for unwanted samples to be sent to the staff shop
Generally keep the department tidy and help out wherever possible

Dealing with supplier:
Send out New Supplier Forms
Keep area records up to date i.e. supplier details
Send out contracts to supplier base on behalf of Merchandisers

Summary of Role

To propose and gain agreement to the business plan for their department and to create and deliver a profitable and commercial range which maximises sales. Deliver a product range capable of achieving profit parameters.

Responsibilities

Managing the team
Manages effectively their resources and workload in order to achieve efficiently their department’s business plan. This will involve controlling set budgets, prioritising workflow and conducting regular team reviews to ensure deadlines and targets are met.
Delegates tasks effectively to ensure the workload is appropriately distributed amongst the team.
Supports Buying Manager in recruiting suitable staff and ensures they receive the necessary training to become effective quickly.
Motivates their team to ensure they maximise performance levels. This will include regular performance appraisals to set and review objectives along with an assessment of individual performance levels and development needs against the competencies.
Monitors and reports on the performance of their team, to their line manager.
Planning the range:
Discusses historical, and future trends data with merchandiser to propose the range structure, including options and price architecture for their department.
Works with their team to put together proposals for the seasonal direction and critical path for their department
Buys the range according to future trends that take into account range construction, seasonal variations, the buying and sourcing policies, target market, market share and competitors
Together with their merchandiser, reviews and plans future supplier strategy for their department, identifying sourcing requirements where appropriate.

To ensure that the designs for their product area are representative of the latest trends whilst reflecting the Next brand in order to meet the expectations of our customers
 
Responsibilities
 
Managing the team
